Happy New Year

Another years end. The time s flying by, and I still have so many things to do. Jeez. But, one day at a time.

I finished my December table runner a couple of weeks ago and just now took a picture.

I like this one too. Now to get Januarys finished before January is finished, lol.

My favorite Christmas gift, the Beatles Remastered Box Set, was given to us by my son, Jack, and his wife Angie.

It was a good holiday, but I'm ready for 2010.

Hope all of you have a very happy New Year.

Merry Christmas

Sure looked like Christmas here this past weekend. Beautiful. But it sure does close everything down quickly, lol. They are not too good with the snow removal here in NC.

We stayed warm though, burning in the fireplace. We also had water since we get city water, that makes all the difference in convenience, believe me!! The folks across the street had power, so we ran LONG extension cords from their house to our house, then we could even see to read, and we plugged in the refrigerator so the food didn't spoil. It was only 3 days, but seemed longer, lol. Pictures of the winter wonderland are below.

I have to work on Christmas, my last one ever since I'm retiring next year. I guess it could be worse, I could be a patient instead of the nurse. Count our blessings, right? But I hope everyone has a great holiday and get to spend lots of time with family.

Christmas Quiltys and a New Runner

It's getting close!!!! We're not having too big of a celebration this year as I have to work 12 hours on Christmas Day, MIL is going to Ohio (yay!!), my daughter and her family live in Ohio, and my son and DIL are staying in Atlanta to enjoy their new home. But I did pull out a few of my quilty decorations because I love to look at them, lol.

Here is my Countdown to Christmas (pattern from Art to Heart). One of my favorites, but for some reason this year, I am only remembering to change the numbers about every other day.

We didn't drag out the big tree, but bought a little live one instead. I made the tree skirt a long time ago.

I made this Winter Trio last year. It is so cute!!
The December wallhanging from Quilters Dozen pattern book.

A tree from a swap my ABC group did. This was made by Naomi Young, who passed away in 2009. I will treasure it forever.

And the runner. Just made it last week, quick and easy. The pattern is from here.

I only have 1 more gift to buy, for Dave, then I'm done. I have the cards done, and the boxes ready to mail, now I just have to get to the post office to do it.

December stuff

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas.....at least at our house. We put up a small tree (decided to leave the big one in storage, too much work, lol), hung several of my quilty decorations, and put garland and bows on the front porch railing. It looks nice.

I also finished the December Country Calendars for myself and Sarrah. Kinda sad to have them all done, but there are many more projects to start!!!

I also finished the last of the monthly tea towels that I made for Sarrah. I like this one, it's a cutie.
Well, you would think I like Sarrah or something huh? She is a wonderful granddaughter-in-law, and I love her even more because she appreciates all the handmade things I give her. Plus, she gave me and my daughter Mackenzie!! (I guess Alec helped a little, lol. )

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season. I am working on Christmas day, so we will be celebrating a little early. But it is still a great time of year.

Love to all,
