The Nook

After looking at Kindles and other readers, and checking out the camparisons, I went ahead and bought the Nook from Barnes and Noble.

I like the way it works, and the web browser is cool. You can also download music. It took me quite some time to get it connected to my wifi as I lost my password, lol. But now all is well and connected. (Dave is reading the first book on it cause I'm still reading a paperback.) And with the Nook, you can lend a book to a friend (who has a Nook of course) for 14 days. That's a very nice feature.

I love it so far. Isn't technology great???

Oh, did you notice the changes in blogger? Now you can pick any of your already uploaded images in your blog to add to current posts.

Grommet Hipster Bag

Just finished making this really cool hipster bag. You can get the pattern here. It was fun to make and came out really nice. There are a few little things I will change when making the next one though. It has side gussets for expansion, and  inside and outside pockets. The grommets out now are really easy to put on.

The rest of my day will be spent doing laundry and getting stuff ready for working the weekend. I only have 69 more working days!!!

I want a Kindle, don't I?

For some reason I have had a hankering for a new piece of technology. I've been vacillating between an iPod Touch, and a Kindle. I already have an iPod, that I don't use too much, but I do read quite a bit. So I think it will be a Kindle. I looked into all the other brands and it seems they all have the same price tag. But  looks like Amazon has the largest inventory of books. So, if I decide to get one, a Kindle it will be.

Does anyone have one? Do you like it? Is it worth the trade off for $259.00 worth of fabric?

April

I finally finished my April table runner. I like it a lot, but a little too many embellishments for my taste.

Made a REALLY quick trip to Ohio to see my new great grandbaby, Carter. We drove up on Monday, spent the day with my grandson, Cody, and the baby, then drove back home on Wednesday. It was quite exhausting, but I didn't want to wait too long to see him. I felt bad that we didn't have time to see anyone else while we were there, I only visited with my daughter for about an hour, and that was while the baby was at his pediatrician checkup. Seems like we were in the motel most of the time. here's one more picture. He is sooo small. He could fit in my purse, and it's NOT a big purse.

Now to get the laundry and yardwork caught up. I have the pattern for Carter's quilt and hopefully will get at it soon. I just wish these babies lived closer to me!!!
